CONTEXT

Our History:

Founded in 1976, MCP began as a broad business consultancy before focusing on maintenance and asset management in 1987, developing the AMIS (Asset Management Improvement System) Assessment with support from the Department of Trade and Industry. During the 1990s, the company expanded its services internationally, while Langcet, a South East–based technical training provider established in 1990, delivered specialist training across multiple sectors.

FOUNDATIONS

1976 - 1990

By 2001, MCP had launched AMIS-MCP International, building partnerships across the UK, USA, Europe, Asia, Africa and the UAE. In 2005, following the acquisition of Langcet, MCP Technical Training was formed and new centres opened in Reading and the West Midlands. That same year, the National Skills Academy for Food and Drink Manufacturing recognised MCP as a specialist in Engineering and Maintenance, and in 2010 the Institute of Asset Management endorsed MCP as an approved trainer and assessor aligned to its Competencies Framework.

RECOGNITION

2001 - 2012

In 2016, MCP received the Queen’s Award for International Trade in recognition of its sustained international growth. The company continued to evolve with the launch of SMART Asset Maintenance in 2019, delivering digital asset solutions, followed by MCP Management Training in 2020, expanding its portfolio with both face-to-face and online programmes in response to changing client needs and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

EXPANSION

2013 – 2019

In 2023, MCP expanded its technical training provision to a new venue in Solihull, which rapidly reached 90% utilisation, demonstrating strong demand. Continued growth led to a move in 2024 to larger, purpose-built premises in Reading, strengthening capacity and facilities. Today, MCP Consulting Group Ltd. continues to support clients’ evolving business objectives, building on decades of expertise in physical asset management consulting and training.
